Symptoms
While registering the system, you may receive the following error:
You can not register a new server! Right now you have 1 servers and your license limit is 1
##Or
Licensing: (#_#) You can not register a new server! Right now you have X servers and your license limit is X
You have reached maximum registered servers for this key. Please go to your CLN account, remove unused servers and try again.
Solution
Most likely, the error shows up after reinstalling the server or re-using the old CloudLinux license on a new server. Note that the CloudLinux licenses do not get auto-removed if you uninstall the server.
If you want to use the license on another server or reuse it on the same server after reinstalling, you need to remove the server from CLN and then register the license on your new server. To achieve that:
- Sign in to your CLN Dashboard
- Go to the Servers page
- Remove the old server. You can identify one by its hostname or the IP address
All done! Try to register the server once again; the registration tool should accept the license now.
