Packages excluded due to repository protections

Issue

Updates to Imunify or related components cannot be installed due to dependency issues and the following message from the package manager:

2452 packages excluded due to repository protections

Environment

• Imunify360
• ImunifyAV
• Any OS
• Any panel

Solution

Disable the plugin using the --disableplugin parameter when installing the update:

yum update imunify360-firewall --disableplugin=protectbase

Alternatively, the plugin itself can be temporarily disabled in the configuration file /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/protectbase.conf, or it can be disabled for the desired repositories by specifying protect=0 in their configs.

Cause

By preventing some packages from being updated, the protectbase plugin does not allow to install the latest versions of some of them. Installation of packages with the plugin disabled will allow the package manager to install the necessary versions of packages to update.
