Issue
Following the migration from one server [registered using the license from Plesk] to another, a message pop-up appears during the installation of the CloudLinux license stating that the CloudLinux license has already been installed on another server.
Environment
- All products
- CloudLinux licenses purchased from Plesk
Solution
The current server should be removed to release the license activation key. Once it's done, the new server can be registered using the same license key.
In order to release the activation key for the license purchased from Plesk, the customers are advised to Submit a request to the Billing team and provide the information below:
- Activation key, which should have CloudLinux key format. Please, contact the Plesk Support team to request the activation key if needed.
For example, the Imunify360 activation key starts with IM and has 17 digits after, like IMXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. - The IP address and hostname of the server that is currently registered under this key.
The Billing team will remove the current server registration and will release the activation key once the data is validated. After that, the user can register another server using the same license key.
Also, the key can be obtained with this article.
Cause
A CloudLinux license is entitled to 1 server registration only.
The error mentioned above is shown because the activation key is out of its registration limit and needs to be released for further activation.
