How to transfer licenses? [from an authorized partner to the CLN account and viceversa]

Issue

The customer wants to transfer licenses purchased from an authorized partner account (like Plesk, cPanel, etc) to the CloudLinux Portal

or

The customer wants to transfer licenses purchased from the CloudLinux Portal to an authorized partner account (like Plesk, cPanel, etc)

Solution

While licenses cannot automatically be transferred from an authorized partner account to the CloudLinux account and viceversa, the customer should follow the steps below to avoid double billing, depending on their case:

If the customer wants to transfer licenses purchased from an authorized partner (like Plesk, cPanel, etc) to the CloudLinux Portal:

• Contact the authorized partner directly and ask to cancel the licenses purchased from them that they would like to transfer (to stop further billing by the authorized partner)
• Purchase the required licenses from CloudLinux directly with these instructions How to purchase licenses and services inside the CloudLinux Portal?
• Re-register servers in the CloudLinux account once the purchase is completed with the instructions received in their email box.

If the customer wants to transfer licenses purchased from the CloudLinux Portal to an authorized partner account (like Plesk, cPanel, etc):

• Cancel the licenses in their CloudLinux account to stop further billing in their CLN account (Key based accounts: How to cancel (terminate) unused licenses? / IP based accounts: How to cancel IP-based license(s)? )
• Purchase the required licenses from the authorized partner of their choice
• Re-register the licenses after purchasing with the instructions provided by the authorized partner
