«Failed to clean up» / «cleanup failed» error in Imunify360 / ImunifyAV+ UI

Issue

Errors «Failed to clean up» or «cleanup failed» appear in scanner results of the Imunify360/AV+ UI.

Environment

• Imunify360
• ImunifyAV+

Solution

Check whether the files in question no longer exist or they have been cleaned up already to zero size as in the example below:

root@host:~# ls -la /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/wp-admin/css/uc.php 
-rw-r--r-- 1 imuser psacln 0 Sep 23 04:07 /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/wp-admin/css/uc.php

Cause

Files had been already cleaned up or removed outside of Imunify which is why the cleanup process failed.
