The libwebp-tools package is missing in the CloudLinux 8.5 repository

Issue

The libwebp-tools package is missing in the CloudLinux 8.5 repository.

Environment

• CloudLinux OS 8.5

Solution

The libwebp-tools package was used in the CloudLinux OS 8 versions previous to CloudLinux OS 8.5.

Starting from CloudLinux OS 8.5, it is rebased from AlmaLinux, which is 1:1 to RHEL or CentOS and thus doesn’t provide several devel and static packages.

The libwebp-tools package and some other packages are in the devel repository which is now disabled by default.

Warning! We do not recommend updating from the devel repository or enabling it permanently.

If needed, devel repository can be enabled while installing packages. 

Example: 

# dnf --enablerepo=devel install libwebp-tools
