Issue
Server is newly installed.
In WHM >> CloudLinux error
Reboot your system to update the kernel.
Environment
- CloudLinux
- Kernel
Solution
-
Compare the running kernel and the available one. For example:
# uname -r
4.18.0-513.24.1.el8_9.x86_64CloudLinux Stable Kernel:
kernel-4.18.0-513.18.1.lve.1.el8
Note: If an AlmaLinux kernel newer than any of the installed LVE kernels, the system forces the server to boot into the newer kernel, even if we manually configure an older one.
-
Try installing our the newest kernel (kernel-4.18.0-513.24.1.lve.el8) that matches the AlmaLinux version
-
Then reboot after.
Cause
The server is booting with the latest AlmaLinux kernel newer than the Cloudlinux kernel in the stable repo.
We have noticed that in some instances when there is an AlmaLinux kernel newer than any of the installed LVE kernels, the system forces the server to boot into the newer kernel, even if we manually configure an older one.
