yum update or CloudLinux installation fails with "Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: cloudlinux-x86_64-server"

Issue

When running package updates or installing CloudLinux, the operation fails with one of the following errors:

Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: cloudlinux-x86_64-server-8

Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: cloudlinux-x86_64-server-9

This can occur during yum update, yum upgrade, or CloudLinux installation/conversion using cldeploy.

Environment

• CloudLinux 8
• CloudLinux 9
• AlmaLinux 9 during CloudLinux installation/conversion
• CloudLinux Network repositories 
• yum / dnf 
• cldeploy

Solution

Our infrastructure team has resolved the CloudLinux Network repository issue.

1. Clean the package manager cache:

yum clean all

2. Retry the update:

yum update

3. If the error occurred during CloudLinux installation or conversion, rerun the CloudLinux installation command after cleaning the cache.
4. If the same error persists, contact CloudLinux Support for further investigation.

Cause

A temporary CloudLinux Network-side issue affected access to the cloudlinux-x86_64-server repository base URL (April, 6th). After the issue was resolved, cleaning the local package manager cache and retrying the operation allowed updates or installation to proceed.
