Issue
Is the AMD EPYC or other specific series supported by CloudLinux?
Environment
CloudLinux
Solution
CloudLinux OS fully supports the AMD EPYC processor line (on Zen architecture) on CloudLinux OS 7, CL 7 hybrid kernel, and CloudLinux OS 8.
AMD Ryzen CPUs work on CloudLinux OS 7 hybrid kernel and CloudLinux OS 8.

*Since 3.10.0-957+ CL 7 kernel.
**For any CL 7 server with a Zen-based CPU on board, our cldeploy script automatically converts CloudLinux 7 kernel to CloudLinux 7 hybrid one. This is done to achieve better compatibility and to avoid any corner cases when the new AMD CPUs don’t boot on older kernels.
***We’ve seen some users reporting that older Ryzen CPUs (like 1700x) work well on CL7, CL7 hybrid, CL8 systems. However, since it’s not supported on an upstream’s level, we do not guarantee full compatibility with those processors.
Since cldeploy v1.61 release, automatic hybridization will be performed for the AMD processors with the following CPU families:
- Zen / Zen+ / Zen 2
- Hygon Dhyana
- Zen 3
