How customers can automate purchasing new licenses?

Customers would like to automate purchasing new licenses.

Environment

Solution

Please note that the automated purchasing of new licenses is available only in IP-based licensing accounts. 

Having the IP-based licensing account allows customers to benefit from the following:

• Automated ordering through our API

• Easy-to-use, IP-based licensing

• A chance to pay for licenses used in the previous month on the 1st day of the following month.

CloudLinux can convert customers' accounts to an IP-based licensing account per request. For more information about this type of account, please refer to CLN for IP-based accounts.

Note that this type of account does not support yearly billing. Customers will be charged monthly instead.

One of the features that is also available in this type of account is that customers can use both CloudLinux OS Shared Pro (as IP-based licenses) and CloudLinux OS Legacy (as IP-based and key-based licenses).

If customers decide to convert their accounts to an IP-based licensing account, all currently active licenses will be automatically converted as key-based licenses. 

The billing will also be affected by the account conversion. In particular, 

• No invoicing history that is currently available for you in your regular account will be shown in an IP-based licensing account. However, the Billing team will be able to provide you with a copy of the invoices per request if needed.
• All payments made during the current month as a regular customer will be refunded back to you as we will bill you for the current usage on the 1st day of the following month.
