Issue
The customer already has an IP-based licensing account with all CloudLinux OS Legacy (CL) licenses currently registered as IP-based.
Ultimately, the customer wants to upgrade only some of them to CloudLinux OS Shared Pro (CLP) and continue using both CL and CLP in one IP-based licensing account.
Environment
- CloudLinux OS Legacy
- CloudLinux OS Shared Pro
- IP-based licensing account
Solution
Now it's possible to combine both, CloudLinux OS Legacy and CloudLinux OS Shared Pro as IP-based in an IP-based licensing type of account.
To register IPs using the CloudLinux OS Shared Pro license, please follow these steps:
- Login to your CLN account.
- Go to Dashboard > CloudLinux OS.
- Click on Add IP license under the CloudLinux OS Shared Pro product box:
- Register the server(s) with the IP-based license using any of these guides: How to activate CloudLinux OS 6/7 license? / How to activate CloudLinux OS 8 license?
Please note that it is not possible to upgrade only some of the existing CloudLinux Legacy licenses to Shared Pro because the upgrade button is only available to upgrade all the licenses.
In this case, the customer should remove the IP from the CloudLinux Legacy product (through the Manage IP Licenses section) and then follow the steps provided above.
