Issue
It is not possible to activate the CloudLinux OS license. The error message "You can not register a new server! Right now you have X servers and your license limit is X" pops up during the registration process.
Environment
- CloudLinux OS
- Key-based licensing account
Solution
If the customer is trying to use the CloudLinux activation key that was previously activated on another server and the customer has an account where this registration exists, proceed with the steps below:
- Navigate to the Activation Keys page in the CloudLinux Portal account,
- Find the old server IP and select it.
- Click on the Remove button under the key needed.
For cases when customers want to keep the old server and they have purchased a new license, the server limit can be edited by following the steps below:
- Navigate to the Activation Keys page in the CloudLinux Portal account,
- Click on the Activation key link
- Select Edit Key and change the server quantity limit.
