How to Install CloudLinux 8 migrating users and CloudLinux settings?

Environment

• CloudLinux 8

Solution

There are two options to install a new server with CloudLinux 8:

• Converting existing servers
• Installing new servers
   

The first option is recommended and is described below. It implies the following path: AlmaLinux 8 > Control Panel > CloudLinux 8:

1. Install AlmaLinux 8 (not 9) as the base operating system.
   
   
2. Proceed with the installation of desired control panel on the AlmaLinux system (find the list of supported control panel here).
   
   
3. Once the Control Panel is installed and configured correctly, convert the server to CloudLinux using the appropriate procedures for converting existing servers.
   • If a trial license is required, check this documentation.
     
     
4. Migrate the user data manually.
   • For CloudLinux settings migration.
