Issue
Do I need to install LSAPI in CloudLinux when installing LiteSpeed?
Is it beneficial to install LSAPI even if not required for future Apache performance?
Environment
- LiteSpeed
- LSAPI
Solution
When you install LiteSpeed on CloudLinux, LSAPI is not required to be separately installed. LiteSpeed Web Server has its own LSAPI implementation, so there is no need to install LSAPI from CloudLinux. You can proceed with installing LiteSpeed without the need for LSAPI from CloudLinux.
While it is not necessary to install LSAPI from CloudLinux when using LiteSpeed, installing LSAPI can be beneficial for potential future transitions. If you plan to switch from LiteSpeed to Apache in the future, having LSAPI installed can optimize performance when Apache runs LSAPI from CloudLinux. Therefore, installing LSAPI could be advantageous for potential future scenarios where you might switch to Apache.
